University-Enterprise Partnership for Smart Future | The Graduate Training Base of Central South University and ZSME was officially inaugurated!
Updated:2025-07-08
On July 5th, the unveiling ceremony of the postgraduate training base jointly established by Central South University and ZSME was grandly held at the ZSME base in Jiangsu. This cooperation marks a new stage of in-depth integration of industry, academia and research, and injects strong impetus into the cultivation of high-end electromechanical talents and technological innovation.
The ceremony was attended by a high-profile lineup to usher in a new chapter: Li Huizhong, a government advisor of Hunan Province, a member of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and a secondary professor of Central South University, represented the university to offer guidance. Wang Donghai, the chairman of ZSME and ZSME(Jiangsu) and Gao Pingli, the president, attended the ceremony. Local government officials, the core management team of ZSME, and representatives of doctoral and master's students from Central South University witnessed the event. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Jianguang, the executive vice president of ZSME.

Before the ceremony began, the leaders of the school and the enterprise expressed their expectations for the future and sketched out a development blueprint. Professor Li Huizhong, in his speech, hoped that the base would become a "showroom" for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and provide top-notch engineering talents for the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta. He emphasized that the construction of the base should focus on "three aspects": focusing on industrial demands, taking the resolution of "bottleneck" technologies in the field of mechanical and electrical as the orientation; focusing on practical innovation: creating a training model that seamlessly connects the training base and the production base; focusing on long-term mechanisms: building a sustainable development system of collaborative education by school and enterprise mentors.

Chairman Wang Donghai, in his congratulatory speech, outlined a three-year plan: by 2025, to establish an "Academician and Expert Workstation", undertake more than five graduate student projects annually, and tackle five core patent technologies, to build a demonstration base for the integration of industry and education in the mechanical and electrical field in the Yangtze River Delta. Wang Donghai said, "We will open up our enterprise resources and let academic wisdom shine on the production line!"

The moment of unveiling and planting the tree of innovation: The local authorities' responsible person announced the unveiling ceremony. Amidst enthusiastic applause, Professor Li Huizhong and Chairman Wang Donghai jointly unveiled the base. The moment the red silk fell, the "tree of innovation" symbolizing the cooperation between the university and the enterprise took root officially. Both sides will cultivate and develop together in the three major fields of high-end equipment research and development, intelligent manufacturing upgrade, and green technology innovation.

After the ceremony, Chairman Wang Donghai accompanied Professor Li Huizhong and his team on a tour. In the digital exhibition hall, the core technology layout of ZSME in transmission systems and industrial control was presented in a panoramic view. In the modern factory, they inspected the entire production line on-site and witnessed the application of the new production line in electromechanical equipment. In the research and development center, they visited the laboratories and the working and learning places for postgraduate students, and were informed of the first batch of joint university-enterprise research projects initiated by the base.

The unveiling ceremony today is not merely a physical connection of resources between the university and the enterprise, but also a value resonance between academic frontiers and industrial practices. In the future, Central South University and ZSME will join hands to create a talent incubator × technology source × industrial booster, injecting inexhaustible impetus into the path of independent innovation of China's electromechanical equipment!
