On January 31, 2026, the graduation defense for the "ZSME Engine Plan" Tongji Seminar was successfully held at ZSME.
Since its inception in November 2025, the training program has spanned over two months, providing participants with a rich, forward-looking, and practical journey to enhance their management skills.
This defense is an important part of the "ZSME Engine Plan" Tongji Research and Training Program, jointly organized and implemented by ZSME and the School of Continuing Education of Tongji University.
Wang Donghai, Chairman of ZSME, Gao Pingli, President, Liu Jianguang, Executive Vice President, Miao Yicheng, Vice President, as well as Jin Fu'an, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at Tongji University, and Zhao Haifeng, Professor of the School of Economics and Management, formed a judging panel to attend the defense site. The 18 trainees successfully completed the final stage of the training program through a dual-dimensional assessment of "individual defense + group defense".
Dual-dimensional defense: focusing on pain points, verifying achievements
Serving as the "outcome verification venue" and "practical training platform" for the training program, this defense aims to "focus on production management pain points and transform learning outcomes" as its core objective. It is divided into two stages: individual defense in the morning and group defense in the afternoon.
During the individual defense session, the trainees presented their reports focusing on the review of core course knowledge in production management, analysis of job-related issues, and design of improvement plans. The judges precisely raised questions about production process optimization details and practical difficulties in quality control based on the specific job scenarios presented by the trainees. This not only assessed the trainees' mastery of knowledge but also provided targeted guidance based on the actual situation of enterprises. The trainees actively engaged in in-depth discussions with the judges around the existing production bottlenecks in their positions, sparking ideas for solutions.
During the group presentation session, the trainees focused on practical business scenarios such as production process optimization and quality control, developing comprehensive solutions that encompassed "problem decomposition, theoretical support, specific plans, implementation guarantees, and expected outcomes." This fully demonstrated their team collaboration and knowledge integration and application abilities. After the presentation, the judging panel raised questions and suggestions from the perspectives of the feasibility of implementing the plan and the rationality of resource allocation. The trainees actively responded by combining what they had learned in the training and engaging in in-depth discussions with the judges on key pain points in the production process. The on-site communication atmosphere was lively, and the details of the plan were further refined.
Defense comment: definite transformation, high hopes placed
During the feedback session of the defense, Professor Zhao Haifeng consistently paid attention to the transformation of each student's thinking. When he saw everyone translating classroom theory into practical skills for their positions, he expressed his satisfaction and said: This is exactly the new starting point for all of you to become the "engine" driving the development of ZSME
Liu Jianguang, the Executive Vice President, highly recognized the learning achievements of the trainees over the past two months. In light of the company's current production status, he posed a series of sharp and pragmatic questions, ranging from production processes to quality inspection standards, and from specific numerical specifications to the precision of expressions. Behind the seemingly rigorous questions, there was a deep and earnest expectation for the rapid growth of the trainees
Vice President Miao Yicheng attached great importance to the front-line practical experience shared by the trainees. He emphasized that this training was of extraordinary significance, both for personal career development and for the company's long-term planning, and that front-line wisdom was an important source of corporate innovation.
Dean Jin Fu'an said, "Seeing the remarkable progress of the trainees, I feel more and more that our work is full of value." The vision of ZSME as "the innovator and leader in the new energy assembly industry" is inseparable from the joint efforts of every trainee.
President Gao Pingli was pleasantly surprised by the transformation of the trainees: "The growth of grassroots managers exceeded expectations!" She affirmed everyone's strong ability to integrate theory with practice, and praised the mindset upgrade from "working alone" to "team collaboration". She also encouraged everyone to shoulder the important responsibility of being the mainstay in future work and shine even brighter!
At the defense site, the judging panel comprehensively evaluated the trainees from dimensions such as "knowledge mastery, scheme feasibility, question-and-answer performance, and expression ability", and ultimately selected 2 first-prize winners, 2 second-prize winners, and 3 third-prize winners for individual defense, as well as 1 winning team for group defense. The judges awarded honor certificates and commemorative prizes to the outstanding individuals and teams, and issued Tongji University training certificates to all trainees who passed the defense.
